Behind is a big kitchen with an island with double sink and a dining area and beautiful high ceilings. On the ground floor off the lounge there is a big bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, and double sink. The room has built in wardrobes.

Outside a staircase leads to a further two very big bedrooms on the first floor each with an ensuite bathroom, built in wardrobes and marvelous views to all sides. The cathedral style ceilings are high and enhance the sensation of space.

From the kitchen you can access a small private terrace with views on the beautiful gardens behind the house.

This house has separate entrances at the front and the back to the garden, pool and parking and can therefore be rented out easily to holiday makers as a complete unit for 6 guests, or as 3 double rooms or as 2 double rooms and a unit for a couple.

The main house offers an enormous, fitted kitchen with cooking island, big double French doors and a ceiling with the original wooden beams that were recuperated when modernizing the house.

Off the kitchen there is the master bedroom with again lots of light, 3 built in wardrobes and a bathroom with a double sink, toilet, shower, and bath.

On the other side of the kitchen there is a very big lounge/dining area designed as breakfast area for the guests of the rooms in the holiday house. This area has everything pre-installed to make an extra kitchen if wanted. Behind this lounge there is another bathroom and access to the terrace of the other house.

Off this area down a few steps there is an authentic artist studio with access to the outside.

From the kitchen a marble staircase leads to the first floor living space; a spectacular room opens with various windows and double French doors for maximum light and a very original bookcase that hides a small office space at the back.

On this first floor there is access to a big terrace at the side of the house and to another covered terrace over practically the whole length of the house with spectacular view on the courtyard and countryside, plenty of sitting space and even a fireplace.

The main house has its own terrace at the back with views on the perfectly kept gardens with many fruit trees and woodland. Off the houses there is ample parking space, a beautiful pool and pool house that are slightly hidden in the surrounding green for extra privacy.

Further down the garden there is access to a water mine producing most of the water for the house and gardens.

To the side of the house and pool and across the traffic free road there are two further plots of building land. At the top of the garden there is also a small woodland.

Heating and energy:

Most living areas have wood stoves; besides this both houses have central heating with oil throughout, double glazed windows and doors. The main house also has floor heating thus having an energy certificate B-. The other house has an energy score D.

Warm water is produced with electrical boilers.

The village of Maçãs de Dona Maria lies only 4 minutes by car from the house and offers basic shopping facilities, a pharmacy and a restaurant , a school and a couple of cafes.

On Sunday there is also a small market.
